Cryo grid boxes for cryo grids and AutoGrids
Introduction
The EM-Tec cryo grid boxes are used with cryo-vitrification systems and are all compatible with the TFS / FEI Vitrobot, Gatan CP3 / 3500 / 626 and the Leica EM GP cryo plunge systems. The base of the boxes includes 4 cavities for 4 cryo grids, a diameter of 14mm with a indent to accommodate the notch in the cryo plunge systems. The cryo grid box for the AutoGrids has larger cavities to accommodate the larger diameter AutoGrids.The available EM-Tec cryo grid boxes are:
- EM-Tec GCB4 cryo grid box with clear rotating lid and reduced static blue ABS body with 4 diamond shaped cavities
- EM-Tec CGB-7 cryo grid box with pin type lid and reduced static blue ABS body with 4 cavities
- EM-Tec CGB-4A cryo grid box with rotating lid, body and screw all made from alumium, ESD safe and excellent cryo properties
- EM-Tec CGB-7A cryo grid box with pin type lid and body both made from aluminium; ESD safe and excellent cryo properties
- EM-Tec ACB-4A cryo grid box with larger cavities for AutoGrids and pin type lid. Body and lid both made from aluminium; ESD safe and excellent cryo properties

The EM-Tec CGB-4A aluminium cryo grid box is used with cryo vitrification systems. It is a round aluminium grid box with 4 diamond shaped positions, an index notch and an aluminium lid. The lid is held in place with a stainless steel Phillips pan head screw. The robust aluminum construction is fully cryo compatible and easy to clean with solvents or low power plasma. The EM-Tec CGB-4A is compatible with the TFS / FEI Vitrobot, Gatan CP3 / 3500 / 626 and Leica EM GP cryo systems. Dimensions of the EM-Tec CGB-4A are Ø14 x 7.3 mm. Screw size is M3x5mm. For handling the cryo grid box in LN2 we offer the EM-Tec 553.AM cryo grid box tweezers. |

The clear lid has a slot which can be rotated to access the cavities. It is held in place with a stainless steel #1 phillips pan head screw.
The EM-Tec CGB-4 cryo grid box is compatible with the FEI Vitrobot, Gatan CP3, Gatan 3500, Gatan 626 and Leica EM GP cryo systems. Dimensions of the EM-Tec CGB-4 are Ø14 x 5.2mm. Screw size is M3x5mm. |
