Einleitung

Die Pioloform-Kohlefilme der PC-Reihe sind robuster als die Pioloform- oder reinen Kohlefilme. Pioloform wird manchmal gegenüber Formvar bevorzugt, da es mechanisch und thermisch stabiler ist und eine geringere Dichte aufweist, wodurch die Elektronenstreuung verringert wird und eine bessere Transparenz erreicht werden kann. Der dünne Kohlefilm auf dem Pioloform stabilisiert den Trägerfilm, wenn mit Spannungen über 120 kV gearbeitet wird oder wenn über längere Zeit auf derselben Fläche gearbeitet wird. Da Kohlenstoff jedoch von sich aus hydrophob ist, muss der Trägerfilm bei der Abscheidung von Partikeln behandelt werden, um die Oberfläche hydrophil zu machen. Die Hydrophilisierung des Trägerfilms kann mit einem Glimmentladungsgerät, einer UV-Lampe oder durch kurzes Eintauchen in 70%igen Alkohol erreicht werden. Für TEM-Tomographie-Anwendungen, bei denen die Probe beschädigt oder verformt werden könnte, empfehlen wir, die Probe mit einem wenige nm dünnen Kohlefilm zu beschcihten.

Die Pioloform-Kohlefile für TEM bieten auch eine gute Lösung, wenn eine reine Kohlefilme zu zerbrechlich wäre, um einer Vorbehandlung und/oder zusätzlichen Verarbeitung standzuhalten. Die Dicke des Pioloform-Films beträgt etwa 5-7 nm, die Dicke des Kohlefilms etwa 7-10 nm. Der Kohlefilm liegt auf dem Pioloform-Film.

Die Pioloform-Kohlefilme für TEM sind erhältlich auf 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400-Mesh und Langloch TEM Netzchen aus Kupfer, Nickel oder Gold. Die Pioloform-Kohlefilme werden in TEM Grid Boxen mit 25, 50 oder 100 Stück angeboten.
